Summer Sessions 2024

**If you are signed up for Summer Camp, we will host a meet & greet on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 12:30-1:30pm.

NELA Forest School will be offering three Camp sessions this summer at our Griffith Park site.

Our 100% outdoor program runs from 9am-1pm (Chickadees & Sparrows) and 8:30-1:30 (Hawks) daily for three 3 week long sessions.
All classes will have 2, 3, and 5 day/wk options available.
We will also offer the Nest afternoon class as an add on: 2, 3, or 5 days/wk, 1/1:30pm-5pm.

Camp is open to children ages 2.5-7.5 (on or before June 12th) who have previously been in a group child care setting.

Because our sessions are short we cannot use our emergent curriculum. Instead! We follow Mother Nature’s lead and investigate the changes of the flora and fauna around us. We will continue to have our usual classroom favorites like clay, mud kitchen, and the library. Summer time we start our hikes early, so be sure to be in class so your kiddo can head right out! Examples of possible observation and investigations. Melting and cooking with the sun, bugs, birds and their flight, gifts from the trees, water, indigenous flora and fauna ! The possibilities are endless!

Camp Sessions 2024

Session 1: June 12-July 3 **FULLY ENROLLED

Session 2: July 8-July 26 **Tu/Th openings for age 2.5-4, 5 day/wk openings for age 4-7

Session 3: July 29-August 15 **one 5 day/wk and many Tu/Th openings for age 2.5-4, Fully enrolled for age 4-7

*Camp offers will begin going out at the beginning of April.
Registration deadline for new families is May 1, 2024
though applications will continue to be accepted until full

Camp Tuition Rates:

Chickadees & Sparrows (age 2.5-4): 3 week session, 4 hours per day 9am-1pm, 2, 3, or 5 days per week (student/teacher ratio 4:1)
5 days/wk: $1190 per session
3 days/wk: $870 per session
2 days/wk: $580 per session

Hawks (age 4.5-7.5): 3 week session, 5 hours per day 8:30am-1:30pm, 2, 3, or 5 days per week (student/teacher ratio 5:1)
5 days/wk: $1320 per session
3 days/wk: $940 per session
2 days/wk: $630 per session

The Nest Add-on (age 2.5-7.5): 2, 3, or 5 days/wk, 1pm (or 1:30)-5pm
Chickadees/Sparrows 5 days/wk: $530 per session
Chickadees/Sparrows 3 days/wk: $390 per session
Chickadees/Sparrows 2 days/wk: $260 per session
Hawks 5 days/wk: $470 per session
Hawks 3 days/wk: $360 per session
Hawks 2 days/wk: $240 per session

To confirm and hold your child’s spot, we require a deposit of 50% per session paid upfront which will then be credited toward your tuition. Remaining tuition will be due one month prior to the start of each session and is non-refundable.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer financial aid for Summer Camp at this time.
